STEEL TRAVELERS

When it comes to steel travelers for long and short staple spinning, the quality and consistency of the steel wire means everything – so that’s why we start there. Our specialty wire, which is produced by Carter Wire Company is drawn to size and annealed in our state-of-the-art furnaces. The wire is then shaped and travelers are formed, heat treated and finished to exact specifications. Our metallurgical lab staff conducts extensive testing on our travelers using the latest equipment, so you can trust that each and every A. B. Carter traveler is built to last and run fast.

SHORT STAPLE STEEL TRAVELERS

  • Steel travelers manufactured in a wide range of sizes and styles to ensure optimum performance in all traditional and compact spinning applications.
  • Designed to maximize yarn quality while improving machine productivity.
  • Made from the highest quality raw material and manufacturing technology to ensure consistent performance and excellent wear resistance.

TRAVELER FINISHES


  • Application: High-tech finish with excellent gliding properties designed specifically to improve service life of the traveler (up to 50% longer life). Ideally suited for processing 100% cotton yarns in high speed and compact spinning applications but can be used on other fiber types and yarn counts as well.
  •    
    Application: Specially designed premium finish for high performance applications on Chrome rings. Particularly suited for 100% cotton and blends in any yarn count range.
  •      
    Application: Universal (Bright Nickel) finish for use on all fiber types and yarn counts. Optimum resistance to corrosion.

  • Application: Special chemically deposited nickel finish developed for use on synthetic yarns in the finer count ranges.

WIRE PROFILE AND APPLICATION

  • RW: Round wire is used for processing fine wool and synthetic counts.
  • F: Flat wire is used on heavy wool and synthetic counts.
  • Oval or HR: Oval or Half Round is used on medium and coarse wool and synthetic counts.

  • CPH: (Chrome Plated Head)
    Application: Designed for maximum wear resistance when processing abrasive fiber.
